Make hand woven cloth accessories in this beginner class.
This is the first instalment in our Tote Bag workshop set.
- This class is made up of two 4 hour sessions including setup and weaving
Two 3 hour sessions where the loom is pre-setup and ready for weaving
- The option to learn loom setup includes everything from warping to tie up.
- Students will learn the basics of plain weave, a variation of twills, as well as finishing techniques for their project.
- The students will leave with a sampler piece that can be used in our next set of classes to complete and hand-made tote bag.
- This project can also be used to make 4 small weavings that can be used as placemats or one long table runner. The final size will be 12” wide with the length changing with each project.
- The students will leave with a Table Runner 12" W x 36" L
- Place mats 12" W x 16" L
- Tote bag 12"W x 30"L
- Students will be provided with 4/8 cotton yarn in a neutral cream colour for the warp.
- Students will have to bring a variety of fibres and yarns similar in thickness to weave with
(Note, if you will be taking the follow up class of natural dyes, it is recommended you weave with only natural non coloured fibres, if you are taking your project home you may choose whichever yarns you want to weave with.)

Prerequisite: None, this is a beginner weaving class and requires no previous experience.
*If you do not finish your weaving within the class time, you can book extra weaving hours for 25$/h.
